Responsibilities: The Public Works Department is responsible for the Town’s infrastructure, which includes the operation and maintenance of the Town’s Transfer Station, Town roads (Summer maintenance on 37.7 miles of town roads. Winter maintenance on 41.5 miles of road, and the maintenance of 13 cemeteries and town buildings. All of this is accomplished by only five full-time employees, including our own town mechanic.

Winter sand is available to Arundel residents at the Public Works facility at 34 Bergeron Dr from November 10 to April 15.
The sand is located next to the Salt Shed 24/7. Residents are limited to 2 - 5-gallon buckets of sand per visit and must supply their own shovel.
Do not block the door to the Salt Shed at any time and watch for incoming and outgoing vehicles.
Please note this sand is not for use by commercial applicators.
